What to watch on Netflix right now
Who sits looking for what to watch on Netflix for longer than the time of the film? Because I feel like that's me. I feel like I'm looking and looking through the same old categories, it gets boring and by the time you've actually found something, you don't even feel like watching anything anymore.
I'm also not a fan of watching anything on my own...it's like it's not an option. I can't even get to the end of a series on my own, even if I love it, because I'm just never in the mood to sit and watch it. It's weird I know, not many people are like that, but for some reason, I am. Saying that, I have scoured the whole of Netflix and have watched some right good'uns, and I'm going to share some of my favourites with you.
Let me say before you continue reading though, I love the comedies, I love the horror, and I love the rom-coms, if that's not you then I can't say you'll get any recommendations from this post...but you can carry on reading if you really fancy!!
In no particular order may I add...
Firstly we've got Santa Clarita Diet. This is one of them shows that you scroll past so many times on Netflix and never end up clicking it, but eventually you give it a try and it turns out to be amazing! This is a Netflix Original about a married couple bringing up their daughter, but it has a twist and goes down a completely odd but hilarious path. (Can I add how hard it is to not give away any spoilers while typing this, haha). It's a comedy horror, which I never thought I was really into, with the 2 genres combined, but I absolutely loved it and can't wait for the new season to come out in a few weeks!!

Next up, Atypical. This is probably one you've heard of and maybe even seen. I feel like this was one of the more hyped up Netflix Originals. This is about an 18 year old boy with autism who announces that he wants to start dating. I also really like this because it gives you an insight and a bit more knowledge on autism, so people become a lot more aware, but it's also got a comedic side to it, which makes it even more enjoyable to watch. I was really gripped to this from the first episode. There's only 8 episodes in a season, (personally I'd prefer more, I got through it way too quick) but it's definitely worth the watch, I'd probably say it's my favourite show on Netflix and I'm very much looking forward to Season 2.
Now I'd be surprised if you hadn't heard of this next fav of mine. It's Benidorm! This is something I never thought I'd actually be interested in. I'd see episodes of it on TV every now and then just because it was on, but never really paid any attention to it. I actually started it about a week ago and I'm absolutely loving it! The characters each have different things which make them super funny, and it's just such an easy thing to watch, no concentrating and no having to understand anything, because I'm not going to lie, I struggle to concentrate fully on films and films that have even just a slightly confusing plot will have lost me within the first 15 minutes. I'd really recommend Benidorm if you don't have anything to watch on Netflix rn.
Now I'll try and give you some film suggestions, as I've just realised so far I've given you series. So now I've got The Visit. This is more creepy than scary, although I did still get scared. This is about a brother and sister who set off to visit their grandparents on their farm. Meanwhile they're there, they decide to document their family by making a film and recording some of the things they get up to, and it was just slightttllyyyyy creepy some of the stuff they got on tape. I'd definitely recommend this if you're looking for something a bit scary.
You're Next. This is a slasher/serial killer film, and I have to say, bloomin' scary. It might not be for some of you, but I just can't stand masks. Any horror with people in masks is just a no. So films like The Strangers, and See No Evil 2, they're two of my favourite films ever but so tense omg!! Back to the point though. You're next is that kind of film. Without spoiling too much of the plot. this is about a girl going to her new boyfriends family event, when it gets interrupted by a gang of freaaakin' scary masked people!! I definitely recommend it if you're looking for something a bit gory.
You may have seen it, or you may have not. I love you, Man. A good ol' rom-com. This is about a man who proposes to his girlfriend, and soon after, discovers he has no friends, and struggles to find a best man. There's not much to really say about this film, or with any as it's pretty hard to give descriptions without telling you what happens, but it is a really good film, and consists of him on the search for a best man. This is probably one of my favourite comedies on Netflix.
Jack Whitehall, he has 3 stand-up shows, along with 1 documentary kinda series, and I recommend them all. He has to be my absolute fave comedian. I think he's absolutely hilarious. All of his stand up shows on Netflix are just hilarious, you can't help but laugh. Stand up comedy shows aren't something I'd usually watch, but I'm so glad I watched these. If you're just looking for a laugh and something that's easy to watch, then you won't regret watching any of these!
Last but by no means least, The Babysitter. Tbh, I used to think Netflix Originals weren't really that great, for no reason whatsoever, other than the fact that they were Netflix Originals (idk why, don't ask), but I've actually find quite a few that I like, this being one of them. Another horror (more of a teen horror tbf), about a young boy who is told by his friend to stay up past his bedtime to see what his babysitter gets up to once he's been put to bed, and that's exactly where i'll leave the description. It has a pretty good story and I just thought it was a good watch!
Annoyingly, a lot of the movies that I wanted to share with you have been taken off of Netflix, but everything I have shared with you are definitely things I'd recommend watching! I wish I had more things to recommend, but I'm not really into a wide variety of genres so it's difficult to suggest more, but these have to be my current favourite things on Netflix.
Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoyed!
See you soon,
Elisa :)
