My Drugstore Make-up Picks #2

Hi, me again, I've actually managed to keep this up and put up another post for you! ~woop woop~

So, following from the previous post, I'm doing my Drugstore Make-up Picks, part 2, featuring my favourite brow products, highlighter, mascaras, and also my favourite brushes.

Firstly, going in with brow products. I literally use 4 different products on my brows at once to get them how I want them to look, but that's just what works for me, although don't worry, I'm only going to be showing you the main ones that make the difference.
So we've got the Rimmel Brow This Way eyebrow kit. This kit consists of a pomade, a powder, and a miniature spoolie. I don't use the powder as I use one that works a lot better for my brows, my trusty £3 Primark eyebrow powder, shocking right? It was the first powder I ever got for my brows and I've always gone back to it. (It's seriously amazing and lasts all day). Lets not go off topic. I use the pomade to slightly fill in my brows, although it is quite a dark shade and Rimmel unfortunately don't have the perfect shade for me so I do only use a small amount to keep my brows in place. I am yet to try the Rimmel Brow This Way gel.

This product retails for £4.99.

Secondly, for brows, I use the Maybelline Brow Satin pen. This is my all time favourite brow product and could produce the perfect brow look without using any of my other products, with this. On one end there is a creamy substance in which I use to fill my brows with once they're outlined. This is amazing and doesn't smudge whatsoever. It lasts for a great amount of time too which is something I really rate about this product as a lot of brow products I have previously tried have ended up smudging when I touch them (which, lets be honest, isn't the prettiest of looks). On the other end is a gel (kind of) pen, which is the perfect shape to sculpt your brows and get them to the perfect shape, I also use it to fill in any little gaps at the end that the creamy substance hasn't managed to get, as the pen on this side is a lot thinner and more precise.

The writing on this product has all completely came off, so that's not the best, but the product is probably one of my favourite make up items I own and will definitely re-purchase when I run out. This product retails for £6.99.

Next up is mascaras! I have 2 favourites, 1 of which probably wont come as a surprise to you, the very well known, Maybelline Lash Sensational!! This probably won't be new to anyone, as it's one of the best drugstore make-up mascaras and has been very much raved about. It volumises your lashes so much, makes them look so much longer and more defined, and it lasts for such a good amount of time. Alongside that, another fave of mine is the Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Waterproof Mascara! I absolutely love the packaging for this product. This instantly volumises your lashes making them look so much darker and longer, so you don't need to use much product to get the look you want. It gives your lashes a nice lift and keeps them well-volumised all day!

The Lash Sensational retails for £8.99 and the Colossal Big Shot retails for £7.99.

Then we have highlighter. This is something I don't wear for an everyday kinda look. I've actually been cutting down on how much make-up I wear to make my skin a lot more healthy, so highlighter is a very rare thing for me, but I'll wear it if I'm going all out, to do a full face!
In terms of drugstore highlighter, one of my favourites if you're looking for something mega inexpensive, is the Make-up Revolution Highlighter in the shade Golden Lights. Before I purchased this I did a bit of googling to find a good highlight, and this seemed to be the most hyped about, drugstore highlighter. I thought I may aswell give it a go as it was so inexpensive (at £3, whattt???). I was kinda sceptical about it. I can tell you that the money you spend 100% is for the product and NOT for the packaging. The lid near enough immediately came off and the writing has completely faded...so I couldn't really get a good image for this product. However, the product is good for its money and I would still recommend it.
I also reach for the Revlon Highlighting Palette in the shade Rose Glow which sells at £9.99, but it's a lot more reliable and gives you such a nice, rosy glow. I haven't actually tried many drugstore highlighters as it isn't something I wear often so haven't got round to trying many!

Last but not least, I wanted to show you my brushes. I use the Real Techniques brushes, alongside their beauty blender.

I got this set gifted to me for my birthday, and I have been loving it. It comes with a contour brush, a detailer brush, a buffing brush, and a foundation brush. I don't often use the foundation brush as I much prefer blending my foundation with a beauty blender, but I use all of the other brushes. I can't find this exact set online, but I've found one as similar as I could, just without the case, and it retails a £19.99. I find this set amazing to travel with as it's so compact and fits perfectly in my make up bag. These all apply and blend your make-up amazingly, without leaving too much product on the brush to go to waste.

And there we go, there's the end of another blog post. Yet again, if you've got this far then I really appreciate you, haha! I could never imagine someone reading to the end of these rambly posts, so thank you so much if you have.

See you soon!!
Elisa.
